karl-johan iraeus: a typical week of a swedish top player
Monday:
I wake up around 06.15 am and start the day with my ordinary breakfast including porridge with milk and cinnamon, two eggs, a glass of water and a cup of black strong coffee. After breakfast I take the train to work. I work at Solna Gymnasium (high school) as the head instructor for the floorball education. 08.00 am start my first practice of the week in Solnahallen (The arena of AIK).
After work I go to Solnahallen and have my own practice with AIK, 6-7.30 pm, monday practice is often focused on recovering from the game the day before.
I get home around 8.30 pm, and after dinner I give my family all my attention before it is time to go to bed.
Tuesday:
Again i wake up around 06.15 and eat my breakfast. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the practice with my students starts 10.00 am. Tuesday have we a free day of from AIK so at the evening I try to do something fun with my family, sometimes we go out for dinner or meet some friends.
Wednesday:
After lunch it´s lot of meetings at work, this day we have a late practice with AIK, so sometimes a can come home after work before the practice and sometimes I don‘t. This practice we often has some tactical movements and we start preparing for the game on the upcoming weekend.

Thursday:
This day I try to sleep about 30 min longer because of the late practice the evening before. Breakfast, then the train and 5-6 minutes of walk to work. After work I go directly to my own practice that starts at 5.30 pm. This practice we continue to preparing our upcoming sunday game, we still play a lot of 5-5 with a tactical and strategic focus. The practice ends at 07.00 pm and I am home around 07.30 pm. I am home quit early this evening and a really try to use the time well, hang out with my family and try to chill in front of the TV.
Friday:
Work and no practice. The evening is filled by family time and hangout with friends to the family, nice dinner and TV.
Saturday:
Saturday the practice starts 10.00 but me and my teammates meet up around 09.20 and have a cup coffee. We drink a lot of coffees during the week but this cup is special and I think it‘s because it´s Saturday morning and you have all the weekend in front of you. During the practice we prepare the late parts for the upcoming game, it is a low intensity practice and a lot of Power-play etc.
Sunday:
Game day. I really like to do the same things on the game day, I sleep about 8-9h hours, eat a big and long breakfast and slowly start to focus on the game in the afternoon. Before I get to the arena I have had two big meals. The second one I prefer fish and potatoes and not too much. 2 hours before the game we meet up in Solnahallen and start to prepare face off.
Best regards,
Karl-Johan
